HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (August 5, 2021) — Charter Senior Living, DMK Development Group (Louisville) and local community officials invite the public to celebrate the groundbreaking of Charter Senior Living of Hopkinsville. This all-new Personal Care licensed community will bring area seniors supportive services and life-enrichment programs, as well as fulfilling job opportunities for the local workforce.
The in-person celebration will take place Thursday, August 12, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the future community’s address: 1595 Marie Drive. The program will include remarks from the Charter Senior Living leadership team, Hopkinsville Mayor Wendell Lynch and Chamber of Commerce leaders. Following a ceremonial groundbreaking photo opportunity, attendees will have a chance for networking while enjoying a local food truck, Vansauwa’s Tacos and Vegan Eats.
“We are honored to bring seniors and their families an all-new living option that offers exceptional care services and the lifestyle they so richly deserve,” says Keven Bennema, President and Chief Executive Officer of Charter Senior Living. “Through Charter’s industry knowledge, leadership resources and company culture, we are building a new era for senior care in Hopkinsville by way of our mission: To Enhance the Human Spirit. For residents, their families and our employees, it’s truly a difference everyone can feel.”
Charter Senior Living, a leading provider of residential senior care communities, delivers on its mission To Enhance the Human Spirit through its corporate values that are infused at all levels within the organization:

“We admire our residents for their stories that make them who they are,” says Chief Operating Officer Jayne Sallerson. “Whether Assisted Living or Memory Care is needed, we build a caregiver culture that instinctively respects residents and ensures dignity while providing care that is tailored to their preferences and specific needs. By creating this culture, we remain true to our mission, and no matter what lifestyle may be required, residents will continue to lead fulfilling lives and remain as independent as possible for as long as possible.”
The project is located off the south end of Skyline Drive at 1595 Marie Drive and will provide accessibility and connection to local conveniences for residents to enjoy on their own, with family or on community-organized excursions. This single-story senior living community will offer 79 apartments and a host of engaging activities, enjoyable amenities and valuable services that are included in their monthly rent.
Personal Care services, including assistance with the activities of daily living and Memory Care (such as Alzheimer’s and dementia care), will be included in the rent, with additional levels of care available as needed. For residents with Memory Care needs, the community will integrate Charter’s highly regarded and exclusive Flourish℠ Memory Care program.
